I know this post is getting toward two years old — but it's exactly what I needed, thanks! I just finished building the Parallella Cluster Kit, and none of my four Parallellas are coming up, so I figured I'd use the serial connection on the Pi to debug.

I'm trying it out now. Thanks again!
