NFS on Parallella

Need some help with getting NFS to work on the Parallella.

Did a

# sudo apt-get install nfs-common

then tried a

# mount 10.101.11.67:/volume1/share /mnt/nfs1
mount.nfs: No such device

Did a

# lsmod | grep nfs

found that it did not return anything so I do not have the nfs module

Did a

# modprobe nfs
FATAL: Module nfs not found.

Saw that the nfs module is available

Anything else I can check?

Nope, installs but doesn't work. Like everything in the 12/24 12.04 PoC image: "more difficult than it should be". Versus comes right up after the install on an Ubuntu 13.10 x86 SoC:

itc-eng@nettest02:~$ cat /proc/filesystems | grep nfs
nodev nfs
nodev nfs4
nodev nfsd76

My guess is an x86 dependency. The question is, how to fix it.

Thanks for the NFS tips. I will give it a try. Glad to hear that NFS works on the Pi!

As an alternative to NFS (which I could not install in the 2016.11 image) I am using sshfs:

Login to the parallella board and just:

sudo apt-get install sshfs
mkdir sshfs-test
sshfs your-destop-user@your-desktop-addr:/a/dir/in/your/desktop ./sshfs-test/
