First steps - rtl-sdr

I got my RTL2832 dongle working on the parallella.
I used rtl-sdr from . I used the package as is but it is open source so it might serve as a base for doing interesting stuff with the epiphany co-processor.
There are some write ups for the installation process on the pi here: and here: . The procedure I used on the parallella was the same.
The only quirks were getting the dongle accessible which I still find a bit tricky but once it appears on the output to lsusb then it is good to go.
You also need /usr/local/bin in your path to find the executable.
I used the rtl_tcp to pipe the data stream to my windows box and SDR# to make it audible.
Good luck and have fun.
